Napoli's forward, Victor Osimhen, has renewed his contract, committing to the club until 2026

Napoli's standout forward, Victor Osimhen, secured his future with the Serie A champions by signing a contract extension on Saturday, ensuring his stay until 2026. Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis shared images capturing the signing ceremony, portraying the joyous moment between Osimhen and the club owner, with the caption "Victor & Napoli together until 2026."

The contract renewal brings even more good news for Osimhen, who recently earned the title of African Player of the Year. His original contract, set to expire in 2025, has reportedly seen a substantial increase in salary, reaching 10 million euros (USD 11 million) per season. Additionally, a release clause ranging from 120 million to 130 million euros has been included.
During the offseason, Napoli turned down a bid exceeding 200 million euros from a Saudi team for Osimhen, highlighting the high regard in which the striker is held. Osimhen, who turns 25 soon, was acquired from Lille in 2020 for around 75 million euros. His impact was instrumental in Napoli's Serie A triumph last season, where he became the first African player to claim the league's top scorer title with 26 goals.
Despite facing initial challenges in the current season, including a coaching change and injuries, Osimhen has demonstrated his scoring prowess with seven league goals, ranking him third in the scoring charts. Napoli, under new coach Walter Mazzarri, aimed to strengthen their position in the league by competing against Roma on Saturday, eyeing a move up the standings to challenge fourth-placed Fiorentina.
