Exciting news for tourists and locals alike! The Mosonmagyaróvár Tourinform office, operated by the Szigetköz Tourism Association, has moved to a new location within the city's charming castle grounds.
New Address, Enhanced Experience:
Previously located on Magyar utca 9, the office has relocated to the visitor center housed in the historic former castle captain's building.
This move, finalized in February, offers both tourists and locals an enhanced experience.
The renovated building boasts a library, visitor center, and now conveniently, the Tourinform office, all under one roof.
Long-Term Partnership, Expanded Services:
This relocation stems from a five-year partnership agreement between the Szigetköz Tourism Association and Széchenyi University, solidifying the office's presence in this central location.
The Tourinform office continues to provide key services:
Concert ticket sales
Mosonmagyaróvár Handball Club merchandise and game tickets
Free, guided city walks for locals (resuming in March)
Notably, the new location addresses a previous concern - a public restroom is now readily available for city center visitors.
Cycling Tourists Welcome:
Recognizing the growing popularity of cycling tourism, the new location caters to this segment too.
Situated near the intersection of EuroVelo branches from Vienna and Bratislava, it offers convenient access to explore the castle and surrounding areas.
Plans are underway to move bike racks and an express service closer to the new office for added convenience.
Opening Hours and Accessibility:
The new office, also serving as the seat of the Szigetköz Tourism Association, is open on weekdays from 8 am to 4 pm.
During peak season (June 15 to early September), Saturday hours are available from 9 am to 1 pm.
Parking is free next to the Castle lake, offering easy access to this central location.
Previous Location Update:
For those familiar with the Magyar utca 9 location, the property is now available for rent starting March 1st. It is owned by the municipality and operated by Movinnov Kft.
