According to Il Resto del Carlino, via FCInterNews, Bologna may be without five key players for their crucial Serie A fixture against Inter Milan next Sunday. Nicolo Casale, Jhon Lucumi, Thijs Dallinga, Santiago Castro, and Jens Odgaard are all considered doubts ahead of the match.
Bologna are set to host Inter in what could be a pivotal encounter in both the Serie A title race and the battle for Champions League qualification. Inter currently hold at least a three-point lead over Napoli at the top of the table, while Bologna have slipped behind Juventus in fourth place.
Despite Inter’s dominance in recent seasons — including a commanding title win last year — Bologna have emerged as one of 2025’s standout teams. Their recent 1-1 draw with Napoli underscored their strong form.
The last meeting between these two sides ended in a 2-2 draw at San Siro, and both teams will be eyeing three points this time around.
Injury setbacks could, however, hamper Bologna’s chances. Defender Jhon Lucumi was forced off during the second half of Bologna’s recent match against Atalanta. His replacement, Nicolo Casale, also had to exit early due to a shoulder injury and is set to undergo medical tests today.
Jens Odgaard is dealing with muscular fatigue, casting doubt over his availability, while forwards Thijs Dallinga and Santiago Castro are also struggling — Dallinga with pubalgia (groin pain) and Castro with a lingering foot issue since the last international break.
