Two Shot in Late-Night Saint-Gilles Violence

BRUSSELS, Belgium – Two people were hospitalized following a shooting in the Brussels municipality of Saint-Gilles in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

 
Emergency services were dispatched to Place Bethléem shortly before 3:20 a.m. after reports of gunfire. Upon arrival, they discovered two individuals with gunshot wounds—one on the square itself and another nearby on Rue de Monténégro.
Both victims were transported to a hospital for treatment. The current condition of the victims has not been disclosed by authorities.
 
It remains unclear whether the two shootings are directly connected. As of Thursday morning, police officers and forensic teams were still on the scene conducting a thorough investigation. The Brussels police zone has confirmed that the inquiry is ongoing but has not released any details regarding potential suspects or a possible motive for the violence.
