In the Rainbow Wahine Invitational at Kapolei Golf Course in Hawaii, Savannah De Bock from Ecaussinnes-d’enghien, Belgium, and representing Georgia, once again delivered a standout performance for the Eastern Michigan women’s golf team. She earned a top-10 finish for the fourth consecutive event, firing a five-under 211 (72-71-68) that further cemented her status as the NCAA’s 53rd-ranked player. Her impressive score tied for the second-best 54-hole mark in program history, equaling Anna Watson’s record from last year, though it remains just behind her own program record of 204 set the previous month.
De Bock was far from alone in leading the Eagles to a historic result. Five of her teammates carded career-low 54-hole scores, powering the team to a total score of 879. This surpassed the program’s previous record of 880, set back in 2015. Mariana Vega of Barranquilla, Colombia, and Riley Kim of Aldie, Virginia, also contributed significantly, each finishing within the top 50. Vega tied for 32nd with a 3-over 219 (76-71-72), while Kim tied for 42nd with a 6-over 222 (79-72-71).
Further down the lineup, Amaya Melendez, Julianna Go, and Maddysun Beeching all matched their season or career-best marks during the tournament. Their performances, which placed them within the top 100 on the leaderboard, were vital in helping the team break the school record.
As a unit, the Eagles finished 11th out of 15 schools with their 15-over total of 879, showing consistent improvement across the three rounds by posting scores of 300, 290, and 289. Eastern Michigan will now conclude its fall season at the Hurricane Invitational, hosted by the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Florida, on October 28th and 29th.
